The Inter-School Council (ISC) and the Lower Merion School District present the first of this year's Parent Education Series Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project: Pennsylvania Laws Allowing Children to Be Charged As Adults Wednesday October 9th, 2024 at 7:00 PM Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81041880480 Meeting ID: 810 4188 0480 The ISC Parent Education Series and the LMSD proudly present Emily Robb, Esq., MSW, Director of Advocacy for the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project (YSRP) and Shariff Ingram, client-partner and member of the Speakers Bureau of the YSRP. Emily will share information about the laws in our state that allow children in Montgomery County and all of Pennsylvania to be charged, prosecuted, and incarcerated as adults. Emily will discuss YSRP's work to lessen the duration and impact of adult criminal sentences on children, their families, and the impact of their educational experience. The presentation will also feature Shariff Ingram, who will share his direct experience with incarceration as a child. Shariff will cover his journey from being charged criminally as a teenager and incarcerated for decades, his resilience, and his successful transition back to the community
